Good morning, ChiroSecure. Thank you so much for tuning in. And of course, we always appreciate. ChiroSecure in helping us out and allowing us to get the word out about chiropractic and especially chiropractic and pediatrics. Today, I’m going to do something a little different. I would like to talk to you about something that’s been a hobby of mine and a passion of mine for many years, and that’s green books.

I’ve collected all the green books over the years, and I think we need to go back to our roots. I think that’s something that’s very much missing in our chiropractic profession overall today, is getting back to our roots and getting back to, The things that started us and that we have our foundation in.

So this happens to be, this is a signed green book, signed by B. J. Palmer himself and Colfame and Fortune from 1955. And I love, this is one of my favorite B. J. Palmer quotes, which I’m going to read from you. We never know how far reaching something we may think, say, or do today will affect our future.

But will affect the lives of millions tomorrow. It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness. Get the idea, all else follows. Let’s think about what that really means. We never know how far reaching something we may think or do today will affect the lives of millions tomorrow. That’s the big idea.

The big idea is when a person gets a chiropractic adjustment, things are going to change. So we see not just pain go away, which is lovely and helpful, but we see kids who’ve had horrible ear infections, not have ear infections anymore. We have, see kids who’ve got a horrible colic, don’t have colic anymore.

We have kids who are on the spectrum, who are flapping their hands and screaming and yelling and being completely dysregulated and watching them regulate themselves and calm down and at times even start better communication. That is what chiropractic is all about and that is getting back to our roots.

So this is the first textbook. So one thing I’m going to do in my, I have a podcast called ChiroCast. In that podcast, I’m going to start this for the next year, for the 2025 year. I’m going to start reading little excerpts from every green book and discussing them. So I’m looking at this is the first, right?

This is the first. This wasn’t even considered a green book initially when it first came out. Even though it’s green because it’s d. Palmer and this, he was, he’s the dude, right? This came out in 1910. Now, there is another book I’m going to get a copy of shortly and we’ll talk about it called Modernized Chiropractic that actually came out before this they always called this the first textbook.

It really wasn’t. Salim Langworthy and his pals created the first chiropractic textbook called Modernized Chiropractic in 1906. But this is called the Science of Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic by d. Palmer, but it’s known as the Chiropractor’s Adjuster. The Chiropractor’s Adjuster from 1910.

This is just a quick excerpt, from this because of the brilliance that d. Palmer had. Think about where this is back in, late 1800s, early 1900s, and think about what he was thinking about to create this. The energy that gives life to the body is now known to be nerve force. What There is no secret in the framework of bone held together by sinews, fibers, and muscles, nor in its covering of flesh, nor in the system of organs located within this framework, or in the several duties they perform.

But the energy, the something that gives them life, the something that has been taken away if someone isn’t alive anymore, what is that? The answer is nerve force. Nerve force is an indefinable substance which is generated in the cells of the brain and spinal cord and sent out through the system of nerves.

To give power to the organs as electricity is sent down through the wires to furnish light, power, and heat. That is amazing. You know why it’s amazing? Because in 1910, nobody believed that. In 1910, everybody thought that the key was the nerve, the key was the blood. Everything was the blood, and you have to get stuff in the blood, and that’s how all of modern healthcare was developed.

Everything was surrounding the blood. But d. Palmer, he had a different story. This is from the front piece of it. What does it say right down over there? It says, founded on tone. D. Palmer, was so ahead of his time, he realized that the brain and the nerve system were the master controllers of the whole thing.

Not the blood. Now, yeah, the blood is important, obviously, right? But he realized that it wasn’t the blood that was the key thing. He realized that it was actually He realized that it was actually the brain and nerve system, and that’s the key. That is the key to everything. When B. J. Palmer took over the school, right around 1910, when this was published D.

D. Palmer was, Already he’s the one who thought of all this stuff and BJ when he took over the school That’s when he started writing. He said, you know what we need to put this philosophy together. So he wrote 39 give or take there’s some 39 41 get 39 green what they call green books It wasn’t called green book in the beginning, but 39 green books of which one of these is This is one of the later ones He wrote these green books to expound and expand on the chiropractic philosophy Because This is the key, the foundation, the roots of what it is that we do.

And I feel like in chiropractic, we need to get back to that. I feel like that is a big missing piece that I see today, that we’re talking so much about all this other stuff. And yes, the science is super important. And me, if you’ve heard me talk before, I’ve talked plenty about science, the philosophy.

That’s the key thing. The art, of course, extremely important. And I’ve talked about the art, too, with Webster Technique and other adjustments and stuff and using functional neurology and some of those things. That’s the art. But what I think is the missing piece right now is the philosophy. So that’s gonna be my my thing over the next course of the end of this year and next year in 2025, is we’re gonna talk about philosophy.

And we’re gonna, I’m gonna pull up every single green book. I have, luckily, Over the years I’ve collected every one of them and I’m gonna read a little excerpt just a little paragraph from each one to go Through it as you guys can see how important this is. So I’m from fame and fortune Once again, there’s his signature right there from fame and fortune that quote that I started off with We never know how far reaching something we may think say or do will affect the lives of millions tomorrow What we do can affect the lives of millions tomorrow that one kid That we adjust today or tomorrow or whatever day it happens to be.

That one kid can be someone with unbelievable influence, can be the Nobel prize winning scientist, can be the president of the United States, can be something that’s we could never even imagine. And maybe because of our adjustment, maybe because we are founded on tone like d. Palmer said, because we’re focusing on nerve force like D.

D. Palmer said, maybe we’re going to be able to make that kind of influence. Maybe, just maybe. We can affect the lives of millions tomorrow by an adjustment today, right? So even though the adjustment today isn’t going to affect the world tomorrow, but over time that accumulative value of that adjustment will make it all the way to the president of the United States, all the way to the Nobel laureate, all the way to some huge discovery or some huge thing that’s going to change everything because of something, an adjustment that you did, Wow.

Like how big is that? Talk about the big idea, right? That was the last statement that BJ said in this thing. Get the idea, which really means get the big idea. And all else follows. But get this idea and all else follows. Get the idea and you know why you’re doing what you’re doing, right? Because to me, that’s the key, is why are we doing what we’re doing, right?

That’s what we have to figure out. We have to figure out why we’re doing what we’re doing because that helps us if you know the, there’s that saying, if you know the why, you can do, you can endure almost any how, right? You can figure out all the whats and the hows, but you gotta have the why as the foundation.

And to me, the green books are the why. The green books will tell us about what that Y is. So check out my podcast called ChiroCast. It’s almost 600 episodes. I’ve been posting since 2015 or something. So I’d love for you to check that out. And just letting you know, we’re also going to, I speak to the ICPA so you can see me all over the place through ICPA.

I’m also doing an autism based seminar here in Atlanta scheduling tentatively for May 3rd. So if you’re interested, you can just Reach out to us ribbonchiropractic at gmail. com. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you so much, ChiroSecure, for having us and I will see you next time. Today’s
